Rewards, Redemption and the Runway

It's been a busy week with exciting updates! From my Run the Runway 5k, division awards, personal rewards, big DISCOUNTS, and plans for my 50k Redemption!

I ran the Run the Runway 5K this last Saturday.  A fun, very flat course out on the Scottsdale Airport Runway. It got pretty warm, as typical for Arizona, but was still a pretty cool and unique experience.

I took my GoPro out on the race and you can watch the short video from the run HERE:

Also, I'm glad I did it because I placed 3rd in my age division! I haven't placed in my division in years

Shameless plug here... but I honestly owe it to my online coach, SweatTracker! They've had me doing more spadework and it's already starting to pay off.  And I've only been using them for a week! If you'd like to try SweatTracker for yourself, I have a promo code for 20% off ANY of their packages!  Just use "RunEatTweetAZ"

I'm signed up for the performance package, but you can even do one specifically designed to for injury and prevention. Plus, the coaches are laid back and pretty cool! If you sign up, be sure to tell 'em I sent ya! :)

ANYWAY, now on to my reward! I decided to treat myself to a brand new GARMIN! I've never had a GPS device, always just used my phone. But as I get more serious about my running and following my coach's training schedule... it makes all the data from pace/time/splits/etc that much more important. So I went with the Garmin Forerunner 15.  Pretty sweet device and not overly expensive like the rest.

Speaking of getting serious about my running... I've finally chosen my 50k Redemption run! As you may have read before, I had to sit out the 50k I had planned a few weeks ago. (Read more about it HERE).  So which race? Drumroll please.... The North Face Endurance Challenge Series: Wisconsin! It's the first weekend of October, so I have some time. But it's a beautiful trail course, and I will be running with some fellow BibRavePRO buddies!

Want to join me? Guess what... I've got a promo code for that too! Use "BIBRAVE15" for 15% off, and you don't have to be ready for an Ultra! Great thing is, these races have half-marathons and full marathons right alongside the ultra runners. All on some great trails. If you sign up or know you'll be out there, let me know, would love to meet up!

So that about sums up my adventures for this week. More exciting things are on the horizon and as I once again begin my Ultra-Training journey and my adventures with Team Nuun, I'll have 'em all right here for you! :)

Now tell me, have YOU ever used a Garmin? What do you like/dislike about them?

  1. Yay! I'm so excited for you to tackle that 50k!
I've been using my Garmin for almost 3 years and love it! I've found it to be more acurate than the apps I was using on my phone.
    Congrats on the 5k!
