Living LEGEND-ARY: My LEGEND Compression Review

I'm determined to make 2017 not only my come-back year, but a year of training harder and stronger than ever before. My goal: to live LEGEND-... wait for it... -DARY! So it seems only fitting that I'd check out the compression sleeves from LEGEND compression.
I've been training for the Sedona Full Marathon (headed there this weekend.. ahhh 😱😱!!) and for the Spartan Super in Arizona later his month. So it's been a crazy few months of long miles and high-intensity workouts. Needless to say, my legs have been sore and angry!
I have always been a proponent of compression for both performance and recovery. I wear compression sleeves (and socks) on long runs because it's helped delay the cramping in my calves and I wear them for recovery when I'm feeling tight or super sore during the week. Read more about How Compression Works.
However, not all compression is made the same. Some sizing can be too short. Others not tight enough. Others too tight. Everyone has different needs and have different leg shapes/sizes. It's like finding the perfect running shoe.
I liked how soft the LEGEND Compression leg sleeves were and how many fun colors they offered. I chose the blue because it's one of my favorite colors. One of the big sellers from LEGEND Compression is they are #RightNotTight. Meaning they are easier to get on and off than other compression sleeves, while giving you just the right amount of compression for optimal performance/recovery.

Why LEGEND Compression?
- Relieves shin splints, calf cramps and pulled muscles
- 15-20 mmHg Graduated compression for increased athletic performance
- Greater power output
- Enhanced endurance
- Increase oxygen levels and blood circulation
- Reduced muscle fatigue, exertion and soreness
- Faster recovery time
- Promotes healing
- Reduce vibration
- Maximum blood flow for muscle performance
- Reduction of lactic acid
- Moisture wicking
- Breathable, seamless construction for comfort
- UV protection
The LEGEND sleeves definitely lived up to their name. They were easy to get on and off and didn't feel "too tight". I've worn some sleeves that are super itchy or too thick and get hot quickly, but the LEGEND sleeves were light, breathable, and #RightNotTight!
LEGEND Compression makes more than just sports compression, they also specialize in medical and everyday compression wear, as well as braces and supports. So they know their stuff!
The only thing I wasn't a fan of with these sleeves were they felt a little short for me. I'm a 6' tall guy, so that's one thing I do struggle with on compression sleeves. However, their socks are longer and I feel would suit me better in this case. I also fell between a S/M and a L/XL on their sizing chart, and opted in for the smaller size, so it's quite possible the L/XL would fit my tall legs better.
Overall I'd recommend giving LEGEND Compression a try. Plus, you can SAVE a whopping 20% on your order with discount code "rave20"!
Tell me, do YOU use compression sleeves or socks? Do you prefer to use them for performance, recovery, or both?

Great review! I also tested the blue pair and really liked them. Good luck at the Sedona Marathon and AZ Spartan Race! It's going to be a busy February for you! :)
ReplyDeleteThe blue is a great color! It was the option I was debating between, and ended up with aqua, which I also like a lot. Love all the photos with Jackson and Janie :)
