Review: Chef'd Meal Kits at Costco

No doubt you've seen tons of meal kits popping up in your social media feeds and emails. Since Jason and I live an extremely busy and active lifestyle, we decided to give Chef'd prepared meal kits from Costco a try!

(Disclaimer: I received payment to purchase the Chef'd Meal Kit from Costco. All opinions in this review are my own)

Our schedules are so hectic it can get chaotic times. And while we want to eat healthier, we usually don't have a lot of time to plan out meals... let alone buy all the ingredients and cook. Usually we buy a bunch of frozen fresh meals from Costco or the grocery store.

A few weeks ago we decided to give the Chef'd prepared meal kits a try via the mail. We enjoyed having all the ingredients all ready to go. All we had to do was follow the instructions on the card and we had an awesome home-cooked meal ready in minutes.

The meals we tried were delicious, and we really liked that you could pick and choose your meals without having to sign up for a subscription. Since we enjoyed our experience with Chef'd so much, we decided to purchase one of their meal kits from Costco

The Chef'd meals at Costco are pre-packaged and ready to go. There wasn't much of a variety, but we were pumped to find a Chef'd kit for Paid Thai. Later that week, we unpacked the kit and got to cooking!

These Chef'd kits from Costco put everything you need for your meal all into one convenient, easily storable container. The recipe is inside, and gives you easy step-by-step instructions.

I'm no stranger to cooking, but I'm also no master chef. I really enjoy cooking when I find time to do it, and the recipe cards really helped me feel like I was constructing a masterpiece with ease. Even if you are new to cooking, I feel like as long as you read carefully, you'll be able to assemble these meals easily.

I've also found cooking together is always a great relationship-builder! Spending time in the kitchen doesn't have to be stressful. Instead it should be a fun learning experience with a delicious pay-off at the end. :)

I'd be remiss if I neglected to mention that when unpacking the Chef'd meal kit, we did find that two ingredients were missing: garlic and green onions. Instead, there was an extra ingredient that the recipe did not call for: cilantro. I wasn't too upset though, because these were minor seasonings that we already had. After two previous pleasant experiences with Chef'd meal kits in the mail, we just assumed this a minor fluke.

Overall the meal was extremely easy and quick to make. And it tasted delicious! Just what you'd need to fuel up for a big run-which is exactly what we did!

It may not look exactly like the photo, but it tasted perfect!

We will definitely pick up another Chef'd meal from Costco soon. I'd like to see more variety of options available, but I'm sure that will come with time. Even if only Pad Thai is available, we'll definitely cook this one up again!

Keep an eye out at your local Costco for Chef'd prepared meal kits! In the meantime, be sure to give them a follow on social.
