You can read more about them online, but here's the quick breakdown:
PROS:
- Liquid for quicker absorption and easier on the stomach.
- Few ingredients, including real fruit juice.
- Affordable (Available at REI locations and under $20 for a 6-pack online)
- Tasted like a fun juice squeeze!
CONS:
- A little large. (Made that way so you can tear them open easier, but makes it slightly harder to transport)
- Not a fan of the chocolate flavor (I know! And I love chocolate! But the other two flavors are great!)
Now for the fun part! You can WIN a six pack of Island Boost AND a cool Island Boost water bottle!
Just head on over to the #RunEatTweetAZ Facebook Page HERE: http://bit.ly/RunEatTweetAZ
There will be TWO winners, announced on Friday, November 14th. So head on over and good luck! :)
Now my question to you. Do you find some gels and other mid-run fuel upsetting to your stomach? What have you found to help? Let me hear your suggestions below!
I bought a bunch of Island Boost at the Orange County marathon expo early this year. I love the taste and it is easier to eat than a thicker gel, especially late in a race.
ReplyDeleteI don't have issues with gels as far as tummy troubles. I love Huma Chia gels. They taste great and are easy on the tummy.
